This touch screen monitor employs surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology to offer excellent durability and performance for factories, clean rooms and retail environments. It also includes features to lower energy consumption and prevent eye fatigue.
Surface Acoustic Wave Technology
The FlexScan T1721 uses surface wave acoustic (SAW) technology which offers a long touch life of 50 million touches minimum. It responds to input from both a finger and gloved hand, and has minimal deviation compared to most other touch screen technologies to ensure that the touch point corresponds to the touch of the finger. Compatible operating systems are Windows XP (32-bit) and Vista (32-bit).
Brightness Stabilization
At startup or upon wakeup, an EIZO-patented drift correction function quickly stabilizes the brightness level. In addition, a sensor measures the backlight brightness and compensates for brightness fluctuations caused by the ambient temperature and the passage of time.
Digital and Analog Inputs
With both DVI-D and D-Sub mini 15-pin inputs, you can use a computer that has either a digital or an analog graphics board (or both if connected to two computers), and quickly switch between the inputs via a front panel button.
Built-in Speakers
Two speakers with volume and mute controls are built into the bottom bezel for multimedia applications or audio confirmation of touch input.
Versatile Positioning
EIZO’s ArcSwing stand offers a curved range of motion with 104 mm of height adjustment and 65° tilt so you can position the screen at an angle to suit your work environment. The power supply is built in, so there is no separate power brick or cord. Compliance with VESA standards means the panel can be removed from the stand and placed on a movable arm or wall bracket.
Preset Color Modes
Four preset viewing modes – Text, sRGB, Custom (user defined settings), and EyeCare. EyeCare lowers the screen’s brightness to just 3 cd/m2 and is ideal for work environments with little or no ambient lighting.
Optimized Brightness with Auto EcoView
An Auto EcoView sensor on the front of the monitor measures ambient light and optimizes the screen's brightness to levels akin to viewing a sheet of paper under typical office lighting conditions. Since the screen is never too bright, eye strain is reduced while power consumption is cut by up to 40% compared to operating the monitor with Auto EcoView turned off and set to the default factory brightness of 100%.

Energy Efficiency Gauge
To encourage environmental consciousness while working, a user-activated gauge called "EcoView Index" indicates energy consumption in correlation with the screen’s brightness. When EcoView Index is fully illuminated, the monitor is operating at optimum energy efficiency.

Detailed Color Control
Hue, gain, saturation, and color temperature in 500 K increments from 4,000 – 10,000 K (and 9,300 K) are all user adjustable.

This allows EIZO to keep close control over production quality and offer a 3-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.

The FlexScan T1721 is both Energy Star 5.0 and EPEAT Silver compliant. It also conforms to EIZO’s own strict Eco Products 2006 environmental criteria for design, manufacture, packaging and usage.
