When do I need a DualLink signal?

At resolutions greater than 1920 x 1200, you need a DualLink signal and cable, as the bandwidth is higher than 165 MHz.

How does the calibration work?

During the calibration by the user, the desired white point and gamma curve are transferred to the gray scale through a combination of measurements and calculations. This process is typical at EIZO as it saves time and is more precise than the measurements of several tone values with conventional manual measuring devices, which are prone to errors. The accuracy of the factory calibration with sensitive laboratory measuring equipment serves as a secure foundation in this regard.

I have a wide gamut monitor that displays images in Web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, and so on) in an oversaturated way. What causes this oversaturation and what is the best way to handle it?

Most Web browsers do not support color management. This means that the browsers ignore images’ color profiles. As a result, sRGB images, for example, are displayed in the monitor’s entire gamut (wide gamut). This is why the images are displayed in an oversaturated way. This also applies for image viewing software that doesn’t support color management.
The sRGB mode that is included on all EIZO monitors offsets the monitor colors in the sRGB gamut. This allows the EIZO monitor to correctly display the sRGB images in the browser/viewer by getting the monitor to correct what the browser or image viewing software ignores.

What are the benefits of EcoView Sense?

Where saving energy counts, the EcoView Sense function really comes into its own. It automatically turns the screen on or off, depending on whether the user is sitting/standing in front of the screen at that time. EcoView Sense will notice that the user has returned even before the mouse is moved or the keyboard is touched. The screen is therefore always ready for use immediately and does not waste any energy when the user is not in front of it.

What is the Smart Detection function for?

Smart Detection automatically recognizes where on the screen a game or video window is located and applies Smart Insight and Smart Resolution to these areas in a targeted way.

Smart Resolution is a patented EIZO technology that inspects the screen content for noise and blurring. Smart Resolution prevents noise from increasing and enhances the image by adjusting for blurring. For example, in the case of a game, Smart Resolution can resharpen the image so that it appears brighter. When it comes to other content, such as photos and websites, Smart Resolution differentiates between skin tones and improves their display.

Smart Insight assesses the content of dark scenes and optimizes them so that they become clearer and more visible.

Can my PC or Mac display a 4K resolution

Below is a listing of graphics boards that support EIZO 4K monitors.

What does "resolution" mean?

The LCD display is comprised of a fixed number of image elements (pixels), which light up to display the contents of the screen. The image is comprised of horizontal and vertical pixels. LCDs achieve the best image quality if all pixels can be allocated data, i.e. if the resolution configured on the computer corresponds to that of the LCD display.

The image looks blurry. What can I do?

Firstly, please check the resolution of the LCD screen. Check the recommended resolution stated for the respective LCD screen. If you have set a lower resolution than recommended, this may result in blurring.

How can I calibrate my EIZO ColorEdge monitor?

The EIZO ColorNavigator software can be used to calibrate and profile ColorEdge-LCD monitor hardware. IMPORTANT: Please do not use an alternative calibration software, which may not be able to use the hardware function of ColorEdge LCD monitors.
