EIZO's Materiality

EIZO's Materiality and Key Focus Point

Materiarity_en.jpg

From the perspective of sustainability, we identified social issues that are closely related to our company by referring to the SDGs, GRI standards, etc., and evaluated them based on two indices, "importance to stakeholders" and "importance to the EIZO Group," and then identified materialities (important issues) that EIZO should address. After deliberation by the Sustainability Committee, these issues were approved by the Board of Directors.

Steps Taken to Identify Materiality

STEP1 Selecting the Issues

We selected social issues closely related to the EIZO Group’s value chain as candidates for key issues by referring to our
Principles of Conduct and international goals and guidelines, such as the SDGs and GRI Standards.

STEP2 Analyzing the Issues

We evaluated and analyzed the selected social issues from the perspectives of the degree of impact on each
stakeholder and degree of impact on the EIZO Group. The results of our analysis were finalized after receiving opinions
from outside experts, as part of the stakeholder dialogue, to assess whether we had covered all items with regard to the
Group’s significant impact on the economy, environment, and people, and whether we had appropriately determined
the level of importance.

STEP3 Identifying Materiality

The results of the aforementioned analysis were mapped onto a graph to identify social issues important to both stakeholders and the EIZO Group as the Group’s materiality.
Following deliberation by the Sustainability Committee, the Group’s materiality was adopted by the Board of Directors in March 2022.

In our policy on sustainability set forth in the EIZO Group Principles of Conduct, we have positioned the following to be of high importance from the perspective of both stakeholder expectations and our management strategy, as outlined in our Medium-Term Sustainability Goals, and are implementing the PDCA cycle each fiscal year.

-Contribute to society with new value created through Imaging Chain × Innovation

-Accelerate the pace of reducing environmental impacts

We are currently working to identify priority issues (materiality) in order to enhance our corporate value over the medium and long term, and the following processes are being carried out under the Sustainability Committee.

  • Extract both management and social issues that impact our business activities
  • Evaluate importance based on two axes: stakeholder expectations and our own business strategy.
  • Identify materiality
